Copan is a department located on the western part of Honduras, a mountainous region with the cool weather and high altitudes needed to grow high quality beans. It’s also one of the most significant Mayan sites in Mesoamerica and was named an Archeological World Heritage Site in 1980 by UNESCO.
CAFESCOR (Cafes Especiales Corquin) is a cooperative founded in 2014 with 25 small producers in the Casitas District in the town of Corquin, Copan. Since that time, the cooperative has grown to over 131 small coffee producers farming over 400 cultivated hectares. The partners are committed to growing coffee with a focus on sustainability and gaining recognition for excellence in coffee production.
